KVP Facts
Kentucky Optometrics Association Kentucky Optometrics Association Kentucky Optometrics Association

The Kentucky Vision Project, funded solely by private donations, offers free eye exams and glasses to low income families.

Participating doctors of optometry throughout the state donate their examinations to determine the need for glasses. Should the doctor determine that glasses are required, $25 donation is requested for each family member receiving glasses. The fee offsets the cost of the lenses, mailing costs, and helps to keep the project ongoing.

Applications are screened by area Salvation Army and Community Action Centers to determine eligibility. Due to the tremendous number of requests, this service is offered one time only to each applicant.
